Since the early 2020’s were like no other, many of us have been relieved to see the end. So, as we move into the new year 2024 many of us are now feeling more inspired and motivated than ever to make some changes in our lives. Have you thought about some new year’s resolutions or a word of the year?

What is a ‘Word of the Year’?

One of the most common traditions that people typically do to start off the New Year is to make a list of New Year’s resolutions. However, instead of creating an endless list of resolutions, a new idea known as a ‘Word of the Year’ has been growing in popularity this New Year. The purpose of choosing a “Word of the Year’ is to use it as a base in order to help you set and reach your goals for 2024. For example, you may choose the word “explore” you might then have sub-goals that revolve around this word such as exploring new friendships or even finding more time to travel to new places. So basically, all your goals for the New Year are based or are inspired by your selected ‘Word of the Year’.

How to Stay Inspired

Once you have chosen a word, to keep drawing inspiration from it and to remind yourself of your goals, put the word on the fridge. Use it as the background on your phone/laptop/desktop or even as a key chain.

Now finding a word can be a battle, however, below we have a list of words that you can use or get inspiration from.
