Noosa is located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. It’s a beautiful destination known for its breathtaking beaches, and beautiful national parks. There are a wide range of outdoor activities to do. Here are some of the many things to do in Noosa:

Located just off Hasting Street, Main Beach is a popular destination. Relax on the soft, golden sands of the sheltered, patrolled beach, that’s ideal for swimming. It’s one of the few north-facing beaches in Queensland, where you can swim, surf and paddle-board.

Exploring the walking trails throughout the National Park is a must. With stunning ocean views, this wildlife sanctuary is full of native flora and fauna. You might even spot a Koala or Goanna on your 5.4 kilometre trail. Don’t forget to bring a backpack, water, walking shoes, and sunscreen.

Stroll along trendy Hastings Street after a dip at Main Beach or a hike through the National Park. Hastings Street is well known for its boutique shops, cafes, and top class restaurants. It’s a great place for shopping and dining out. Enjoy the ocean views while eating the freshest local seafood, or a well earned ice-cream to cool you down.

Noosa River

Venture to Noosa River, where you can swim, fish, jet ski or go boating all year round. In fact, there are so many water activities to choose from. With a fresh water inflow, the river spans from the Great Sandy National Park to Laguna Bay. Noosa River also offers many dining choices, including sunset dinner cruises.

Eumundi Markets

A holiday to Noosa should include a day out in Eumundi. Located 20 minutes away, the Eumundi Markets have local artworks, crafts and much more. Try some of the amazing local produce, and delicious street food on offer. It’s a great way to spend your day, supporting local businesses. You can enjoy the markets all year round, on a Wednesday or Saturday.

Take a boat tour or kayak through the Noosa Everglades, known as one of the most pristine waterways in the world. Situated at the Cooloola end of the Great Sandy National Park, this is a must have experience. The crystal clear waterways are home to an abundance of wildlife and lush rainforest. It’s a great place to explore for the bird spotter, with over 40% of Australia’s birdlife found there.

Drive or hike up to Laguna Lookout for a breathtaking panoramic view of Noosa and its surrounds. This is especially scenic at sunset. Laguna lookout is about 1.2km into the headland section of Noosa National Park.

Noosa Spit Recreation Reserve

This park is perfect for picnics, birdwatching, exercising in the shade, and beachcombing. It’s a quieter spot away from the hustle and bustle, yet still in the heart of Noosa. To access the recreation reserve, head to the end of Hasting Street, into the woodlands. You’ll find the beach to one side, and the river mouth to the other side.

Whale Watching

Whale watching on the Sunshine Coast takes place from July to October. If you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast during the winter, this is a great activity to enjoy. Occasionally you’ll spot these magnificent creatures from the shore. Otherwise, you can join a whale watching tour to witness the migration of humpback whales.

Noosa Botanic Gardens

Explore the tranquil Noosa Botanic Gardens. It’s a great outing for a leisurely walk and birdwatching. Along the shores of Lake Macdonald, you’ll discover a fern house, lily pond, and an ampitheatre. The gardens are family friendly, with winding pathways, picnic spaces, and play facilities.

Noosa has a vibrant food scene with restaurants and cafes, offering a variety of cuisines. A food destination, it offers casual eateries, amazing international cuisine, and fine dining. Most notably, Noosa is a seafood lovers paradise.
