Basil Pesto Sauce

This ever so tasty basil pesto stir-in sauce with pine nuts can be enjoyed as a spread, or with your favourite pasta.

  • 45 g Pine nuts
  • cups Basil leaves
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • ¾ cup Parmesan grated
  • ¼ cup Extra virgin olive oil


  • Lightly toast the pine nuts in the oven or on a skillet at a low heat, then set them aside.
  • Dice the garlic and lightly fry in a pan with a small amount of oil, then set aside.
  • In a blender or food processor, add the nuts, garlic, parmesan cheese and basil. Keep mixing until the ingredients are finely chopped.
  • Next, slowly add the oil until the ingredients are well combined into a paste.
